From the Commercial Appeal:

After raising their right hands and listening to a short oath, 61 people from around the globe took the oath of citizenship Monday at Houston High, the first naturalization ceremony held at the school. The program was brought to Houston by Tom Gould, court clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, who taught a course on immigration and naturalization to students last week.

At the ceremony, the Houston High band and show choir played and sang patriotic songs, and Tu M. Pham, federal magistrate judge for the Western District of Tennessee, swore in the group.
