The PLAN test for all 10th graders is coming up Tuesday, November 6.

What students should know about PLAN:

  1. PLAN is designed to test what the average sophomore should know at the beginning of the 10th grade.
  2. The PLAN score sheet will have useful information on areas a student should target to improve upon skills needed for the ACT.
  3. The PLAN score sheet will also give students a very accurate prediction range for their ACT score and a benchmark for college readiness.

Governor’s School Applications Now Available

Governor’s School is a 4-5 week summer program for our gifted and talented 10th & 11th graders. This “adventure into excellence” will match outstanding students with challenging teachers, distinguished professors and practicing professionals in each field for the opportunity to earn college credit. Programs are available in the following areas: Agricultural Sciences, Computational Physics, Emerging Technologies, Engineering, Humanitities, Information Technology Leadership, International Studies, Prospective Teachers, Sciences, Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage, Scientific Models and Data Analysis, and the Arts in Dance, Orchestra, Filmmaking, Visual Art, Wind Ensemble, Chorale and Piano Ensemble. There is a program fee associated for the Arts with full, partial and need-based scholarships available. All other programs are Free!

Interested students need to come see Mrs. Miller or Ms. Bryan for more information or an application.
