Houston High will host an information night for parents and rising freshmen on Tuesday,  February 7 , 2012 at 6 PM beginning in the HHS auditorium. This open house is a wonderful opportunity for  students and their parents to learn more about Houston High School. The event will ‘put a face’ on Houston High; the program will convey an overall image of excellence, stability and diversity, highlight the strengths of Houston as an academic and social community, share information about athletic, arts,  and enrichment opportunities, and personalize the Houston High experience through presentations made by faculty and administrators.

HHS Faculty participate in Operation Feed

Posted in Uncategorized by houstonmustangs on January 3, 2012

HHS Faculty members assembled 2,016 emergency meal kits to be donated to the Mid-South Food Bank as a part of Operation: Feed. The faculty were led by student members of FBLA who had participated in a similar event at a conference and led a similar event as part of the HHS Student Think Tank.

FBLA Faculty sponsor Josephine Hammond spearheaded the event for the faculty, and she and the FBLA hope to organize a larger event with other student groups on campus.

The school-wide event will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2011.  Every group that participates will also make a contribution to purchase the dried food to package.  Members of the school community are welcome to attend and/or contribute to the cost of the dried food.

For more information please contact Ms. Hammond at jhammond@scsk12.org

We have $1000 already earmarked for purchasing the dried food!
