Avatar, Houston High’s literary arts magazine, has received the NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Highest Award Rank for 2010.  This places HHS in the company of 28 high schools nationwide who received this award.

HHS is the only high school in the state to be so honored, and have been, according to the NCTE,  the highest ranked literary arts magazine in the state now for the last three years in a row.

Special thanks to faculty advisers John Traverse and Karen Garrison for their work with the students to produce Avatar.
